This is a question that has continued to be ask for thousands of years. Some believe that wisdom has to do with how old a person is , or respect for a person because they have gray hair, and therefore they must be a wise person.
But is this really true wisdom? lets define what wisdom is. Wisdom: Is the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight. The ability or result of an ability to think and act utilizing knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and insight, accumulated knowledge, erudition, or enlightenment.
So as we can see wisdom is not about age at all, however age can play a very important part in being a wise person. The Bible teach us to ask God for wisdom and apply it to our lives daily..
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding" Proverbs 2:1-6
Knowledge is profound and we must continue to grow from it, however without wisdom we would not know how to use and apply wisdom. example, a doctor has knowledge, medical skills, and a lot learning, but without wisdom of how to apply what he knows this knowledge can create problems for anyone in his care.
Wisdom comes from God, He tells us in the book of James "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." James 5:5.
It is God's will to give us wisdom, start today by praying for wisdom, read the books of Proverbs, and James also study King Solomon in the Old Testament, There are a number of stories of how he applied God's wisdom and gain much wealth and became the richest man that ever lived on this earth. Seek God and He will give you wisdom.
